Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is a Global Day of Generosity that takes place annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It was launched in 2012 as a way to encourage people to give back to their communities and support causes that matter.

Support Survivors This Giving Tuesday

Did you know that Wisconsin ranks among the highest in the nation for domestic violence-related homicides? In fact, 1 in every 6 domestic violence homicides in the U.S. occurs in Wisconsin. Last year alone, there were 85 DV-related homicides in the state – that’s roughly one death every 4.3 days!

For over 45 years, New Horizons has been providing free, confidential services to individuals and families in our community who have been impacted by domestic and sexual violence. Our team is dedicated to ending violence, saving lives, and creating a safer community for all.

Starting this year, we’re facing a new significant challenge. Due to severe budget cuts to the VOCA (Victims of Crime Act) grant, New Horizons is losing over $337,000 annually – a loss that will affect nearly half of the clients we serve each year, leaving many survivors without the critical support they rely on.

When you’re thinking about ways to support your community this Giving Tuesday, please consider donating unrestricted funds to New Horizons and help us continue our vital work. Your tax-deductible gift will directly impact life-saving services and leave a lasting impact on those who need it most.
